FOHN 2024
The FOHN Board are pleased to announce our plans for 2024:

Work Streams
Continuing to engage with the NMC to ensure that any future changes to standards of proficiency support our drive for quality and innovation in OH practice. Setting up the FOHN quality and practice committee to start developing/signpost to recognised good practice standards.
Supporting and providing opportunities for present and future OH nurses to develop the knowledge, skills and delivery to improve the health and wellbeing for the working population. Following the successful education workshop ‘Shaping the Future of OHN Education’ in January, the FOHN are working in collaboration with the National School of Occupational Health to ensure a quality education process and curriculum for career development. Setting up the FOHN Professional Development Committee to explore and support a wide range of career pathways.
Working with employers, government and other stakeholders to help them understand the value of good occupational health nursing practice. Ensuring that OH nurses are represented on key national, regional and practice specific networks, forums and groups.
Our Mission
The main purpose is to promote, preserve and protect the health of the working population. FOHN will achieve its’ purpose by:
Creating standards and providing guidance for the education and practice of occupational health nurses in order to promote and sustain professional excellence and competency.
The provision of services that enhance confidence, competency and credibility to practice occupational health effectively and safely.
The provision of a framework and support for professional and regulatory standards.
The promotion of national and international research and evidence based practice for all concerned.
Engagement at a local, national and international level with all key stakeholders.
