For Occupational Health Nurses in the UK and potentially those working overseas. We will also welcome members of the wider OH workforce and supporters through our Friends of the Faculty membership.
Standards, guidance and research will be the main focus of what we do. FOHN will be a one-stop shop for career development, good practice and useful information. As the voice of OH nursing we will continue to make statements of intent, develop frameworks and work with key decision makers.
It will not take the place of any regulatory bodies such as the NMC or become a Union.
FOHN has two membership routes; Professional Membership for nurses and Friends of the Faculty for the wider OH team and our supporters.
FOHN consults with OH nurses on practice guidance, setting up working groups were necessary. We also have LinkedIn and Facebook Groups and will be producing a regular e-newsletter. The success of each of these initiatives requires input from practicing OH nurses and their wider teams, so join our network by completing the contact form on our website.
No, a faculty does not have to be part of a college. It will be an independent charitable organisation but with close links to the National School of Occupational Health.
The majority of our funding will come from membership, accreditation and other services. We will also be actively looking for sponsoring and applying for grants.
We will primarily be a virtual organisation, operating online with events across the UK. Our business address is 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FH.
